Like the Winton drive, I had never driven (or flown over) this country and was very pleasantly surprised. Mile after mile of lovely open rolling downs carrying a good body of green grasses.
Extract from my Ashes to Ashes Post of 10th August,2019-
On to the Thomson River south west of Longreach. Lovely looking open country from 40,000 feet!!
These two contradictory extracts carry two messages. First that octogenarians need to beware of memory lapses and second that the practiced eye can evaluate land in general terms from 40,000 feet!
