Applying the scientific method, the thirty year old hypothesis of atmospheric warming and more extreme events, as a result of anthropogenic caused increases in carbon dioxide as portrayed by way of numerous models, has failed the real world observation tests. Yet this has not constrained the promotion of the theory.
I believe this is one of the greatest frauds ever foisted on mankind! The scientific weight of opinion challenging the fraudulent view continues to increase particularly in the U.S., Germany and is ever rising in the UK and here. Meanwhile, so many countries, including many that signed up to the Paris agreement, pay lip service to the agreement as they continue (or revert) to the use of fossil fuels and nuclear energy in producing cheap, abundant and consistent energy. Most notably China who is reported as building two new coal driven power stations every week and claims ‘developing country’ status under the Paris agreement, not requiring reductions in emissions.
As a matter of urgency we need to halt our headlong race to achieve ‘net zero’, incurring huge costs, defacing our environment with solar panels, windmills and massive extension (including some duplication) of the Eastern States grid. We do this in the face of the unchallenged evidence that anything Australia does would have no impact on carbon dioxide levels, if they did matter.
A good place to start would be to pass the private members bill, by trying to convince enough members of parliament of the damage and costs we face, rescinding the nuclear ban and removing all government subsidies and environmental control waivers that are currently in place for renewable energy developments. Given Labor Party rules requiring policy compliance, this will not be an easy task, but with right on side and the moral imperative to pursue what is in the nation’s interest, worth a try.
Pandering to public opinion, particularly of the younger generation, many of whom have been brainwashed into accepting the fraudulent view, is an argument for the political reactive response to misguided beliefs, rather than the pro-active pursuit of the national interest.
